OPEN CALLS FOR SOLO AND SMALL GROUP ARTISTS

The Brenau University Galleries encourages submissions from individuals or institutions wishing to propose an exhibition in one of its campus galleries. The Curatorial Department reviews proposals every quarter, and although we make every effort to respond promptly, it may take some time before you receive a response.

Brenau University Galleries invites all artists regardless of race, gender, gender identity, age, neurodivergence, ethnicity, religious affiliation, or socio-economic status to apply to be juried into its many group shows. Three of its galleries, the Castelli Gallery, the Presidents Gallery, and Sellars Gallery are dedicated to exhibiting the works of local, regional, national, and international artists, while its other two gallery spaces and facilities are dedicated to exhibiting the works of master artists in its extensive and impressive permanent collection.

BRENAU 1st ANNUAL ART ON THE GREEN CALLS FOR ARTISTS & MAKERS

BOOTH APPLICATIONS FOR 2024 ARE NOW OPEN!!

We welcome any ARTISTS and MAKERS that are affiliated with Brenau University in any way..  (Alumni, Students, Staff, Faculty,  Affiliates.. supporters, friends, etc.) to apply to have a 10 x 10 booth space on Brenau’s front lawn/green during the 2024 Downtown Gainesville Artwalk. We ask that you please have a tent to cover your artwork/ creations. Pop up tents can be any color…and helps with light rain or sun.

Event Guidelines

EVENT DAY AND TIME: The Brenau Art on the Green Event will be Thursday, April 18th from 12PM-Sunset located on the left side of the lawn directly in front of the Simmons Visual Art Center and Sellars Gallery. The Gainesville City’s Artwalk begins at 2 and ends at 8PM. Trollies will be available to transport visitors to Brenau Galleries and Art on the Green, which will be on the Artwalk Map/ Circuit.

BOOTHS: A MAXIMUM OF TWO ARTISTS PER BOOTH IS ALLOWED. Exhibitors will be responsible for assembling their own booths. A booth space is 10′ wide x 10′ deep. Please decorate your booth in a festive style with colorful flags, banners, etc. if desired. The exhibitor’s name(s) must be prominently displayed on the booth. The entire booth must be confined to the space assigned. Excess noise of any kind is prohibited. If you desire shade, you must provide your own. Specific booth location requests will not be accepted. A limited number of double booths are available.

SET UP and TAKE DOWN: Booth Artists may set up after checking in. Check-in starts on Thursday, April 18th at 10:00 AM in Sellars Gallery where you may pay for the booth and receive your booth number. Booth locations will be marked with numbered stakes. Booths are to be broken down as soon as the sun sets. Please have your booth set up by 12PM!!!!

CONVOCATION ATTENDEES: Please have your booth set up by 12PM. (All staff and faculty who have a booth and who want to attend convocation at 12:00 may ask a friend or a nearby artist who has a booth to watch your booth or simply use the honor system. If you use the honor system, you will need to place a QR code out for visitors to use if they would like to pay for something in your booth). You may also simply close your booth tent or cover your table with a note that you will return at 1:30 PM. Remember, Trollies will drop off Artwalk visitors around 2 PM.

TRANSACTIONS: All artwork and handmade item transactions are the responsibility of each exhibitor.

BOOTH FEE: The cost to have a booth space is only a 35.00 dollar donation to Brenau Galleries. Booth Fee must be paid during check in beginning at 10:00 AM at Sellars Gallery located at 200 Boulevard.

SELLARS GALLERY

Sellars Gallery (above)- high ceiling, off-white walls, dimmable track lighting, can be darkened to exhibit works needing to be projected on the wall. Has electrical outlets on each wall.
Approximately 134 total feet in wall space.

Located on the 1st floor in the Simmons Visual Arts Center- 200 Boulevard.

Approximately 110 Feet of Wall Space.
Located on the first floor of the John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts- 429 Academy Street.
