“Women’s Work” Fiber Arts Workshop
Women’s Work is an exhibition and oral history project that explores the relationship between contemporary fiber art and its roots in domesticity and gender-specific roles. Over 30 contemporary Georgia fiber artists from all over the state are represented in the show.
In conjunction with the exhibition, curator Lori Gann-Smith will hold a workshop entitled “Stitiching Together: Past and Present.” (DATE AND TIME HERE…)
Workshop participants will use digital images and traditional women’s arts like stitching and quilting to create a piece of art commemorating an important woman or women in their lives. This interactive event is free and open to the public. No prior experience in fiber art is necessary.
